Live Mode: Consoles with intelligent monitor support system

In 2023, Live Mode approached Ellan to develop consoles featuring an intelligent monitor support system tailored to their operations. The project needed to be customized to equip the company’s new facilities in Rio de Janeiro, with more than 20 consoles capable of supporting all critical operations for live and on-demand video content transmission. Most importantly, the solution had to enable the broadcast of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games — a major milestone for Live Mode.

Live Mode is a Brazilian sports media and marketing company founded in 2017 by Edgar Diniz and Sérgio Lopes, the founders of the subscription-based channel “Esporte Interativo.” The company positions itself as a pioneer in the digital transformation of sports in Brazil, connecting the sports world to the new dynamics of online broadcasting and internet content consumption.

In 2023, in partnership with the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB), Live Mode acquired the broadcasting rights to the Santiago Pan American Games. This acquisition was strategic, considering that no open or pay TV network had shown interest in broadcasting the event. Additionally, Live Mode is an official partner of FIFA, the São Paulo Football Federation, Clube Athletico Paranaense, Liga Forte União (26 Brazilian football clubs), CazéTV (a major streaming phenomenon), and produces dozens of independent projects in the sports journalism segment.

Challenge

The main challenges of the project were:

  • Developing a console with an intelligent monitor support system for a production company operating under intense use of monitors, ensuring ergonomics, comfort, and usability to drive operational efficiency;
  • Building a robust solution capable of supporting multiple monitors simultaneously at each workstation — not only accommodating the equipment, but also integrating the entire power supply, structured cabling, and internet connection system — while ensuring reliability for the company’s technical operation and live broadcast rooms;
  • Finally, there was the challenge of an extremely tight schedule for the entire development and installation process. The consoles needed to be fully operational in time for Live Mode to begin its activities at the new location in Rio de Janeiro, coinciding with the launch and live broadcast of the Pan American Games.

Solution

Ellan, with over 35 years of expertise in technical and industrial furniture, developed a complete and customized console solution featuring an intelligent monitor support system to meet all project demands, with:

  • Design and installation of consoles with intelligent monitor support systems across more than 20 workstations for the various environments within the production company:
  • Operational control centers
  • Recording and content broadcasting studio
  • Data and equipment traffic control rooms (“switch rooms”)
  • Commentary and recording booths (“off tubes”)
  • Image control and editing rooms (“shades”)
In other words, Ellan’s main challenge was to build consoles with an intelligent monitor support system — the core work tool of a streaming content production company — capable of integrating monitors and equipment for editing, monitoring, and content finalization, while meeting the highest standards of ergonomics, durability, safety, and reliability for 24/7 broadcast operations.

Result

The successful implementation of Ellan’s consoles with intelligent monitor support systems directly contributed to Live Mode’s success in its new facility and ensured the seamless broadcast of the 2023 Pan American Games via its streaming platform through the CazéTV program.
